It’s weird to think of Orcs getting some mutation skills, but the Renegade Orc has decided to break away from the norm and get in bed with the totally not malevolent Chaos Gods and earn himself some special gifts. Compared to your run-of-the-mill Orc, he’s identical other than his Animosity applies to all team-mates and of course that lovely Mutations access, so for 50k he’s ever so slightly better than his vanilla cousins. Oh, and his PA is 5+ instead of 4+… moving on!
Other than the Troll and Ogre, this is your other way to get some high AV on the team, therefore he’s going to see a lot of fighting (good for an Orc!) so we’ll need to equip him as such. Mutations, a bit like on the Goblin, really helps here as it gives you access to the well sought-after Claw, which is very nice as Strength skills are a Secondary, so while it’s not quite as good overall, it’s a very nice option to have to crack AV9+ and beyond. Foul Appearance is nice here too, he’ll be in the thick of things so you’ll probably see it go off a few times a game.
His biggest issue, as per all Orc Linemen, is his low MA. At a value of 5, he’s the slowest non-big guy on the team and considering you can only get 1 of him, it means he’s not going to be moving very far. So you need to get him into the thick of things to do his job and make sure he stays there!
Build List:
Renegade Orc Base Stats:
| Qty | Cost | MA | ST | AG | PA | AV | Skills | Primary | Secondary |
| 0-1 | 50k | 5 | 3 | 3+ | 5+ | 10+ | Animosity (all team-mates) | GM | AS |
Randomised Skills:
GM are pretty good overall, but I think this player benefits more from specific skills. He’s going to be hitting A LOT, so he should be getting some decent CAS SPP throughout his career and being the sole Orc on the team means there’s no contingency should you roll a bit weirdly. At 50k he’s cheap enough to replace though, should you roll something like Shadowing.
Brawler | Renegade Orc Build
Primaries: Block, Claw, Foul Appearance
Secondaries: Guard, Mighty Blow, Stand Firm
Characteristics: ST
Stick this guy in the middle and punch, that’s all he really needs to do! Block is an obvious pick here, making his hits more likely to knock someone down and hopefully meaning he’ll be on his feet more often. Claw comes next for cracking open anything above AV9+, which you’ll find on most Lines of Scrimmage anyway. Foul Appearance is also really good here, usually your opponents will aim for this guy first as it’s easier to get 2 dies on him rather than the Big Guys likely surrounding him, so stopping that 1 out of 6 times is pretty good, especially as he’ll be taking a lot of hits over the course of the game.
For Secondaries, again these are fairly obvious choices. Guard will support the team as a whole and then Mighty Blow is just good in general and means you can hurt AV8+ too. Stand Firm is always good when paired with Guard too.
Strength is probably the best Characteristic but usually your nearby Big Guys will have guard on them so it’s not necessary, I’d go for Secondary Skills over it personally.
Another Secondary option could be Defensive which would increase his effectiveness on Defense, plus should you come across mass guard, high strength teams that can actually threaten your big guys, it’ll turn off their guard options which they’ll be relying on.

Only the one build for the Renegade Orc Lineman, a lot of the usual alternatives are covered by more numerous Human Lineman. Get the usual brawling skills you need, stick him in the middle of the fight and let him dish out and take the hits. If he gets injured, so be it, easy to replace and go ahead!
That’s it for the Renegade Orc build! Check out our guides for the Renegade Human Lineman, Renegade Human Thrower, Renegade Goblin, Renegade Dark Elf, Renegade Skaven, Renegade Troll, Renegade Ogre, Renegade Minotaur and Renegade Rat Ogre.
