TV 1000 Chaos Chosen Starting Rosters
For the Chosen of the Chaos Gods, not much has changed. They still have only two main positionals, the Beastmen and the Chosen Blockers, but instead of being locked into the Minotaur, you’re now free to choose one of three Big Guys for the team!

With this roster you land exactly on the dot for the one million starting money. You’ll need the rerolls, since the players you get offer no starting skills whatsoever (except Horns for the Beastmen). While this might seem bad to start out with, it opens the development path up, since no player has a predefined role. And with every player on the team having cheap mutation access, you can build a bunch of very versatile players!

The addition of the Troll to the ranks of the Chosen allows for a start with a Big Guy and all 4 Blockers! The only downside is, one player has to perform Troll-sitting duty to make the Troll’s negative trait less of an issue. But otherwise you get a very solid roadblock, who, with just a few skills (a few Tentacles maybe?) can make your opponent’s life very difficult.

Exchanging one of the Blockers for a Beastman allows you to take an Ogre. In my opinion, the Ogre is the most reliable of the three choices, since his negative trait always requires you to just not roll a 1 – pretty easy, right? Therefore the Ogre can be a more active part of the team, like moving into the thick of things and assisting with Guard, or pushing the opponents players just where you want them with Grab.

The Minotaur is the classic (and previously only) option for the Chaos Chosen. If you decide to use it, you’ll probably want to Block or Blitz every turn with it, because these actions reduce the difficulty of the Unchannelled Fury roll from 4+ to 2+. With its Horns skill the Minotaur blitzes with a Strength of 6, making him equal to a Treeman! That means that against average Strength players you’ll need less assists to guarantee the 3-die Block, which greatly increases the chance to knock the opponent down. With this build, you’ll probably want Block or Claw as your first skill choice.
Conclusion:
While it seems that nothing much has changed for the Chaos Chosen, the Big Guy choice definitely opens up new tactical avenues that the Chosen teams of old did not have. Otherwise, they stayed true to their identity of grinding their opponent into dust first, worrying about the ball later.
